no movie tonight

katy's siblings, the famous poker players, were in ESPN's "Tournament of Champions". it's going to be aired tonight, so katy's having a little poker party at her place and her siblings might be there. i really want to go to that, so we cancelled the movie. then i'll go home, take a quick nap, and get ready to go clubbing tonight. we're going to lotus. it's supposed to be their signature night, so it should be a lot of fun. all i need is a couple of redbulls, and i'll be good to go . . .

i could probably very easily do both. and interviews are during the week - so it would just make for long weekdays, still little to no weekends. buuut . . . i would through in all these kinks to the hotels plan. i will NOT wear a uniform. i am willing to wear a name tag and look nice (dress pants, polite shirt) but i will NOT wear a front desk uniform. furthermore, i will NOT work for $7 an hour (the average front desk pay) i will only be work like 10 hours a week, most likely, so they can afford to pay me more like $10 or $11 an hour or they don't really need me. if i'm going to get there by 6am 2 or 3 days a week - then are going to compensate me :)

so, jessie is working tonight and edgar is studying. i'm going to leave here around 6:30 and i'm going to go to the wine store and get a bottle of wine and watch gilmore girls by myself and mean girls and do laundry and drink an entire bottle of wine.

so, i'm quitting one job after you guys leave (changs, obviously) but the head of sales at the hotel i used to work at emailed me last week - well, called twice and could reach me and then emailed - about the residency program at u of r. last year, the hotel convinced u of r to house all their interviewees at the hotel and we took care of getting them where they needed to go on time. more specifically, i took care of it. wake up calls, walk to their interview rooms, shaking hands with the program coordinators. so, she emailed me to just do that again this year. i emailed her back - not because i'm planning on picking up another job - but just to see how much they are offering :)

my break

i took a couple hour break between 9:30 and 1:30. i got to go out to breakfast with edgar and then go for a walk through a park. now, i'm back and working on my cells. everything is going great so far . . . so i might actually be out of here at a reasonable hour. i need to be leaving here no later than 7:00 . . . i think i'll be our by 6 :) :) ok, maybe 6:30.

what a pleasant surprise

i usually dont check this that much as soon as i get here cause no one has written, and i was sick of it from 430 yesterday when everyone stopped too! but now i checked and so many updates already!!

i got here at 815, and my email isnt working, which is my excuse to not do anything. so i shopped at victoria secrets online - i like a few things - do you guys think id be a small or medium in their sweaters/tops? i decided that i should buy a lot of things and then just have dev ship whatever i dont like back cause he gets free shipping...

ive been waiting now for the IT guy to call me back since 815 - and he is the one that made me change all my settings yesterday for no reason!! god i hate our IT deparment....

i made dinner last night for jackie and dev :) the idea was to make it for everyone, but little miss drunk on a monday night didnt come home till after i was fast asleep...i made chicken teriyaki and broccoli. i really liked it :) and it only took like 30 min total in the kitchen....

i think ill pass on the movie tonight - i want to go home, study and maybe watch the last samurai with dev when he gets back from some random town in PA where he is for work today....

such a great movie! and gilmore girls - also great. i got to catch up on the season finale last friday at rupa's. dvr (kind of like tivo) is amazing. looks like i'll be missing the season premier tonight. rups, looks like i'm going to have to invite myself over to your place at some point to watch it. please don't erase it before i've had a chance to see it!

cruises

so, i've been checking up on these cruises . . . i say we hold off planning one for december and go later. if we wait a whole year, we can take a nice 7 day bermuda cruise leaving from boston for like $500 each! ooor . . . there are bermuda cruises that leave from nj, apparently very close to nyc because all the hotels they recommend are in nyc. or, we can take a cheapy 3 to 5 day caribbean next fall :) basically, just hold off on cruising until we can get the colombian on board :)
and the reason i'm finding these cruises for so cheap is i'm searching 4 people, one room, no window - hope everyone is ok with that :)

why oh why

i didn't come in last night, that's why i'm here this morning. 16 hour stimulation, starting at 5:30 yesterday. but the catch! ah, the catch . . . 4 wells of cells need to be stimulation for 2 hours. so, for consistency purposes, they sit in their wells without extra stuff for 14 hours then have the extra stuff for the last 2. so, 14 hours after 5:30 - 7:30am. but its cool because i'm here early, and i'll be here all day . . . (after the 16 hours comes a 4 hour incubation time then staining which last time took me 5 hours) BUT i think i'll be done by - if not before - 7! which means i'll make it home in plenty of time for the gilmore girls season premiere! AND this is jessie's one night off before the weekend, so we can hang out, watch gilmore girls, and watch mean girls (which should be arriving today through netflix)

yep, i've been awake since like 5:30. for no reason at all, i just couldn't go back to sleep. soooo annoying. and i felt i shouldn't go to the gym since i drank for like 7 hours straight before going to bed. drinks and appetizers with a candidate started at 4:30. then we continued the celebration downtown, where rupa, jonathan, and another one of the guys in desrad decided to hold a business dinner :)

ok, the not sleeping is starting to get to me. and i'm not sleeping tonight either. we're going to the movie at 8, then i get to go home and have a couple of drinks before i go out with jackie and sabrina (her co-worker). boy, life is rough.

it's 8:00am . . .

and i've already been here for half an hour. and i forgot to grab a granola bar :( i still have an apple for breakfast, but still! PLUS i def spaced on thinking about cash - i only have $2.50 in my wallet . . . so, no convenience store splurges when being here for 12-ish hours straight starts getting to me. but! it all works out in the end . . . being here a long time means i can leave early on thursday and friday (thursday to hang out with edgar and friday to get ready for you guys)
